When I ran across this story on a Craig’s List post yesterday while searching for scarves, I could not help but want to help…A dear friend of Kenny’s is making scarves to sale to help raise money for Kenny’s medical bills so he can have the surgery to remove the benign brian tumor that is keeping him from working.

 I challenge us all to either make something to donate to be sold or list a few things on your etsy shop where the proceeds go to help a dad and firefighter in need.

This is Kenny’s story. He was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. It is operable and with surgery his life will be saved. The tumor is growing at a fairly quick rate, about the size of an egg at this time. His insurance is not willing to pay stating that it is pre-existing. He put in for financial assistance with one of the hospitals that is willing to help. He still needs to come up with $36,000 to cover his part before they are willing to operate. Due to the tumor he is unable to work as a firefigher, the job that he loved, and has no way of getting the money. He has 3 kids that need him and many friends that love him. Every penny will count. It will go to him to make sure he see’s his kids grow up and are taken care of. We can not just sit by and wait for the day he dies just because we personally do not have the money.
